Deerfield Students Donate to Storm Recovery

Students from the Deerfield School collected clothing and supplies for those who suffered from Hurricane Sandy.


The following information was provided by the Mountainside School District.

Michael Ciccimara, a 6th grader at Deerfield School, is one of many studentswho donated coats and blankets as part of the Mountainside School District storm recovery.

Students collected these items as well as school supplies (for the Sayerville and Lavellette School Districts) for communities who didnot fare as well as Mountainside.  

Mrs. Leslie Moorman, a resident, employedby Cooperative Counseling Services, spearheaded the coat/blanket collectionfor her agency.  She explained that they received close to 500coats/blankets and winter items for the families that her organizationhelps.

In a follow up email, Mrs. Moorman expressed her gratitude.

"On behalf of Cooperative Counseling Services and all the families we serve,thank you. We appreciate Mountainside families and their generosity and areproud to not only house our business in Mountainside, but to live here as well."
