Mountainside Residents Urged to Sign Up for Union County First Alert

Stay informed with real time updates from the County.

 


Mountainside Borough Residents are encouraged to sign up for The Union County First Alert Network by logging on to, ucfirstalert.org.

Lieutenant Allan Attanasio gave an overview of this communications system at Monday night's meeting of the Borough's newly formed Media and Communications Committee, chaired by Councilman Glenn Mortimer. 

Approximately twelve members from the community volunteered for this committee after the last Borough Council meeting, which was attended by more than 100 residents.   

The County of Union uses the UC First Alert Network to immediately contact subscribers during a major crisis or emergency. The UC First Alert Network delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to via email account, cell phone, pager, or smartphone.  

The UC First Alert Network provides real-time updates, instructions on where to go, what to do, or what not to do, who to contact and other important information.

Residents are asked to help spread the word about this helpful means to staying connected to important news. 

Lt. Attanasio noted that anyone needing help with signing up for this alert service can come into Police Headquarters for assistance.

This is a great service. I signed up a few years ago. It's a great way to get information. I have it set up to send alerts to my home and work email addresses as well as sending a text to my cell phone. This way, I won't miss anything no matter where I am. It's a great resource. I encourage everyone to sign up.
