Mountainside's Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes' Chapel Celebrates 12th Anniversary

Chapel adjacent to church available for prayer 24 hours a day.

On Friday February 10, 2012, the parish community of Our Lady of Lourdes in Mountainside will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the 12th Anniversary of their Perpetual Adoration Chapel.

The Chapel first opened on February 11, 2000 and has remained a place where adorers visit with the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  There are always scheduled adorers present while the Holy Eucharist is exposed.  It is very fitting that the Chapel opened on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes and shares its Anniversary with the Feast Day every year.

The Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes is extremely proud of its’ Adoration Chapel and of the hundreds of people from within the parish and other parishes who devotedly keep their scheduled hour each and every week.  It is through their devotion and commitment that this chapel has remained such a success for 12 years.  Irene Ciccarino, the chapel’s coordinator for these 12 years, states that “An hour spent in the chapel is the best spent hour in the week.”

The small chapel adjacent to the church sanctuary at 300 Central Ave. in Mountainside is open for anyone who wishes to visit with the Holy Eucharist and spend some quiet time in prayer.  It features a library of devotional literature for anyone to use while visiting.

The Anniversary Celebration will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 300 Central Avenue in Mountainside on Friday, February 10 at 7:30pm.  All past, present and future adorers and their families are welcome to attend this Celebration of Evening Prayer and Benediction.   Light refreshments will follow in Pollard Hall.  Please call the parish office at (908)232-1162 if you would like to attend or for further information.

If you are interested in spending an hour in quiet prayer or meditation with our Lord, please don't hesitate to volunteer an hour a week as a regularly scheduled adorer.  If you have a partner, you can spend an hour every other week if each week doesn't work for you.  Scheduled adorers are always needed and always welcomed.   For information or to volunteer, call Irene Ciccarino (732-574-0064)
