Museums You've Never Heard Of (But You'll Like)

They're all driveable, right in New Jersey, and open this weekend for the entire family.

If your kids are bored with the 'same old, same old' activities, try something new this weekend. Tony Award Winner Michele Pawk Visits Cast and Crew of 'Seussical the Musical'

Pawk will be teaching at The Actor's Camp at Mountainside this sumer.

Tony Award winner Michele Pawk, who starred in the original Broadway cast of 'Seussical,' visited the cast and crew of Roosevelt Intermediate School’s 'Seussical the Musical.' She gave them a psych talk prior to their opening night and students were treated to a question and answer session where they heard, first hand, about her experiences as a Broadway star. Pawk starred as Mayzie LaBird in the 2000 production of 'Seussical,' which played the Richard Rodgers Theatre. For those interested in studying with Broadway stars this summer, Pawk (with her husband John Dossett – Star of Broadway’s 'Newsies') will be teaching at The Actor’s Camp at Mountainside. St. Patrick's Day Duo at St. Paul's

Chamber Music and Concert Duo Christopher Collins Lee and Merynda Adams to perform in Westfield.

Irish eyes will be smiling on March 17, 2013 at 3 p.m., when celebrated Chamber Music and Concert Duo Christopher Collins Lee and Merynda Adams perform A St. Patrick’s Day Concert for Violin and Harp at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 414 E. Broad Street (near Euclid Ave.) in Westfield, NJ. Sponsored by The Friends of Music at St. Paul’s, the concert will feature Romantic era music by Saint Saens, Gounod, de Falla and Elgar. Also to be featured is a medley of beloved Irish songs, including The Last Rose of Summer and Danny Boy. Dr. Lee is an internationally renowned violinist and an Official Musical Ambassador of the U.S. Dept. of State.  One of his many recordings was chosen to represent human culture on The Voyater Time Capsule, which is …

County Sponsors Photo Contest at Trailside

Wildlife photography contest at trailside seeks your original photos of wild animals.

The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Parks and Community Renewal are pleased to announce the 2013 Wildlife Photography Contest at Trailside Nature and Science Center in Mountainside. Amateur photographers, ages 6 through adult, are invited to enter their original photographs of wild animals in their natural habitat. Individuals may enter a maximum of two photographs, but only images of wildlife species native to the United States are eligible for submission. Images of exotic wildlife, pets or domestic animals will not be considered. Entries must be un-matted, unframed, 5” x 7” black and white or color prints. Oscar-Nominated Movie Screens at Berkeley Heights Library at 7p.m.

'Moonrise Kingdom' is nominated for a best screenplay Oscar for Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola.
