3rd Annual Shabbat Under the Stars With Barbecue Dinner - Temple Sha'arey Shalom, September 7th, Register Now
Remember the days of cookouts and sing-alongs? Temple Sha’arey Shalom of Springfield invites the community to join them for its 3rd Annual Shabbat Under the Stars--a special outdoor Shabbat service and dinner--on Friday evening, September 7, 2012.
Shabbat Under the Stars will begin with a barbecue picnic dinner featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, sides and desserts, starting at 6 pm. Our service, led by Rabbi Ari Rosenberg and Cantor Amy Daniels, will begin at 7:30 pm. We will worship together and celebrate our spirit of community under the stars of a warm summer night. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs for your comfort. If you would like to come for the barbecue dinner, reservations are required. The cost is just $5 per person, with a $20 maximum per family for dinner. Send a check, payable to “Temple Sha’arey Shalom” with a notation of “Shabbat Under the Stars,” to the temple office at 78 South Springfield Avenue, Springfield, NJ 07081. Be sure to include your family name, number of people attending, phone number and email address. If you’re not hungry, please consider joining us for the service, open to all! About Temple Sha’arey Shalom: Temple Sha’arey Shalom is a mid-size, Reform congregation serving Springfield and the surrounding towns of Union and Essex counties. The synagogue welcomes children, young adults, singles, seniors, and families of all shapes, ages and sizes--including single parents, interfaith families and Gay and Lesbian families. There are Family Shabbat services at 7:30pm on the first Friday of each month and additional Children’s Shabbat services for K-3rd grade families on Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. The Temple also holds monthly Tot Shabbat services--perfect for pre-school families—at 6 p.m. on the third Friday of each month, and Adult Study minyans on Saturday mornings. Erev Shabbat services take place from the second through the last Friday of each month at 8pm and ALL ARE WELCOME.
