DESCRIPTION:The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Memorial Day Parade Committee is pl
 eased to announce a very special event for our Communities.&nbsp\; On Su
 nday\, May 27\, 2012\, from 7 &ndash\; 8:30 pm the Westfield Community B
 and will perform selections of patriotic music in a &ldquo\;Tribute to F
 allen Heroes Concert&rdquo\; that will take place on the north side of t
 he Fanwood railroad station.&nbsp\; In addition to the musical tribute\,
  there will be testimonials by several of our community&rsquo\;s veteran
 s honoring those who served our Nation past and present.\nWe are very fo
 rtunate to live in a country where so many brave men and women have foug
 ht for our freedoms.&nbsp\; Memorial Day is a solemn day\, and one in wh
 ich we should all reflect on the sacrifices made in defense of our natio
 n.&nbsp\; We live in the greatest country in the world and that is only 
 possible because of the many who sacrificed for us.&nbsp\; This Memorial
  Day\, the SP-F Parade Committee asks that everyone take time to honor o
 ur fallen heroes\, their families and all of our veterans.\nFanwood Mayo
 r Colleen Mahr\, invites all area residents to attend this musical Tribu
 te.&nbsp\; Mayor Mahr\, who is organizing the logistics for this event\,
  stated\, &ldquo\;Fanwood is pleased to be able to host the Tribute to f
 urther the traditions of our Memorial Day ceremonies&rdquo\;.&nbsp\; Com
 mittee member\, and SP Councilman\, Kevin Glover\, who initiated the ide
 a of the concert\, and has taken on fund raising responsibilities\, quot
 ed President Abraham Lincoln\, &ldquo\;Any nation that does not honor it
 s heroes will not long endure&rdquo\;\, as his motivation to help provid
 e this concert to our towns.\nThe Westfield Community Band\, now in its 
 100th Year\, is led by Dr. Thomas N. Connors\, Music Director and Conduc
 tor.&nbsp\; The 60 chair orchestra promises to provide a spirited evenin
 g of entertainment.&nbsp\; Music for the evening will be a tribute to ou
 r fallen hero's with selections such a "Tribute to Armed Forces"\, "On t
 he Mall" and a variety of others celebrating Americana and honoring our 
 nation's history.&nbsp\;\nThis free event is being made possible through
  the generosity of our citizens.&nbsp\; Local veterans groups\, civic gr
 oups\, businesses and individuals have been contributing to make this a 
 very successful musical Tribute.&nbsp\; Please consider donating to this
  concert.&nbsp\; Contributions of $250.00 will receive a special commemo
 rative certificate of appreciation.&nbsp\; In addition to receiving a ce
 rtificate\, donations of $500.00 or more will be acknowledged at the &ld
 quo\;Tribute&rdquo\;.&nbsp\; Contributions should be made to the SP-F Me
