SUMMER CREATIVE WRITING INTENSIVES
for Teens & Gifted Younger Writers

two week-long intensives:

Week 1:   July 29-August 2
                           9:00 AM-3:00 PM

Week 2:  August 5-August 9
                          9:00 AM-3:00 PM

If your child loves to write, The Writers Circle is the perfect place to hone their craft in a generous, creative environment. This summer, they'll:

work with professional authors to develop their voices and writing ideas

choose from several specific genres to focus on each week

work on their own writing projects and get personal editorial feedback

get supportive, constructive critique on their writing from instructors and peers

learn about revision and editing through The Writers Circle's online journal

spend time examining the writing of peers and masters

Plus they'll make life-long friends with like-minded young writers from the local area.

A writer's day at TWC's
Summer Intensive:

• 9:00: Arrive at MONDO-Summit
• 9:15: Writing Warmups (Physical, literary and creative)
• 10:00-Noon - Study with a published author in one of three genres (see below)
• Noon-1:00 - Brown bag lunch and time to move and socialize
• 1:00-2:00 - Free writing and editorial conferences with TWC Directors and Instructors
• 2:00-3:00 - Afternoon Electives:
  • TWC Online Journal Editorial Committee
  • Read Like a Writer Book Club

The program will be capped by a student reading on Friday evening each week.
