New Providence Micropaving To Begin Tuesday

Plus, the U.S. Senate Primary Election is Tuesday and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

New Providence street micropaving is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, weather permitting. This four day project will include a number of streets throughout the borough. Click here for the schedule.

The U.S. Senate Primary Election is this Tuesday, which will determine who will run in the special Oct. 16 election. This election is being held to fill the seat of Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg. The Republican Candidates are Alieta Eck and Steve Lonegan. The Democratic candidates are Cory Booker, Rush Holt, Sheila Oliver and Frank Pallone. The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here for information on the special election.

New Providence's Hillview Field closed last Wednesday for repairs and will remain closed until March 2014. 

New Providence's Annual Street Fair is set for Sunday, Sept. 8 and those wishing to participate can sign up now as a non-profit, performer or vendor. To participate, contact the NPBPA at (908) 598-2532 or communications@npbpa.com, or complete the form here. Sponsored by the New Providence Business Community, the street fair will be held on Springfield Avenue between Livingston Avenue and South Street.
