Bishop Barthlomew Preaches at Faith Lutheran

On Sunday morning, October 13, the Rev. Tracie L. Bartholomew, the newly elected Bishop of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, visited Faith Lutheran Church in New Providence.  She preached at the Holy Communion services of 8:30 am and 11 am.  Between services, she conducted a special forum, entitled, “A Conversation with the Bishop.”  At the Forum, Bishop Bartholomew discussed challenges and issues currently faced by the New Jersey Synod as well as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.  Bishop Bartholomew answered questions and asked for comments of the members of Faith.

The New Jersey Synod consists of 175 churches, whose baptized members total 80,000.
