Brain skills (aka cognitive skills) are the essential tools people of all ages use to process and handle information. Core brain skills include: attention, memory, logic, auditory and visual processing and processing speed. Research proves these skills can be trained and that people can think, remember, pay attention and perform better as a result.   When used properly, even the simplest puzzle s and games can boost your brain power. Brain training, like in puzzles and games, does for the mind what exercise does for the body.

Members of the public are invited to call or visit LearningRx Warren for a list of reasonably priced toys and games currently on the market, and ideas for how to use them.

Marcia Douglas, Executive Director of LearningRx Warren, also encourages people of all ages to look into their own toy chests. “ Most everyone has a puzzle somewhere at home, and puzzles are also a great way to develop brain skills. Puzzles require attention, visual processing, planning and spatial reasoning.” These skills are essential for school aged children and provide a strong foundation for science, math and learning. Strong skills are equally important for adults who rely on the same brain skills for the many demands of work, family and life!
