Protect Your Ears During Holiday Fireworks

Zounds Hearing-Westfield Giving Away Ear Plugs Until July Fourth

Zounds Hearing in Westfield will give away free earplugs between now and the Fourth of July, with the goal of helping those with sensitive or diminished hearing better endure holiday fireworks.

Everyone stopping in Zounds’  location at 1943 Route 22 can request the yellow E-A-R Classic earplugs, which conform to the shape of the ear canal to create a comfortable, snug noise barrier.  Zounds recommends hearing protection for those of any age who want to protect their hearing, but especially children and anyone who has previously been diagnosed with diminished hearing.

“Noise-induced hearing loss can be caused by a one-time exposure to loud sound as well as by repeated exposure to high-decibel sounds over an extended period,” says Justin Lipp, an audiologist with Zounds Hearing-Westfield.  “I recommend hearing protection if you’re going to be particularly close to any fireworks show.”

For more information on how to protect your hearing, or to make an appointment for a free hearing screening, visit http://www.zoundshearing.com/westfield, or call 908-280-0479.   Zounds is located at 1943 Route 22, Scotch Plains, N.J
