3 Berkeley Heights Teens Earn Eagle Scout Award

Kieraj Mumick, Scott Brookes and Michael Horwath earned scouting's top rank.

Three members of Berkeley Heights's Boy Scouts of America Troop 368 earned scouting's top rank—the Eagle Scout Award. The boys were honored for their accomplishment at a special ceremony at William Woodruff Elementary School June 15, according to The Alternative Press. 

Kieraj Mumick, Scott Brookes and Michael Horwath were lauded for serving the community as scouts and particularly via their Eagle Scout projects.

Mumick, who won his Eagle in December 2012, was cited for for winning 24 merit badges throughout his scouting career. Brookes, who won 27 badges and also earned his rank last December, has served the troop twice as assistant senior patrol leader and as troop guide and patrol leader. Horwath, named an Eagle Scout in January 2013, earned a number of awards including the BSA Arrow of Light, World Conservation, 100 Nights of Camping, and Zero Hero prizes.
