Annual Styrofoam Collection Announced

Collection will take place on Jan. 19.

The Governor Livingston High School Environmental Club announced they are sponsoring the township’s annual Styrofoam Collection on Saturday, Jan. 19.  According to the announcement, the collection will take place at the Recreation Building across the parking lot from the Community Center (on Park Avenue in Berkeley Heights) from 9am to 12 noon.

Environmental Club members said the Styrofoam will be given to Foam Pack Industries in Springfield for recycling. They are accepting styrofoam peanuts and clean Styrofoam from packaging and ask that tape from Styrofoam be removed and that any Styrofoam that came in contact with food/drink be cleaned before getting deposited.  They ask that participants use clear plastic bags for smaller pieces.

You do not have to live in Berkeley Heights to participate.  For questions, please call 908-464-1988.
