Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad Collecting Items For Sandy Victims

BHVRS Cadets are collecting canned foods, canned pet foods, clothing and supplies to assist victims of Superstorm Sandy. Read on for full details.

The Cadets of the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) are collecting donations to help families as well as animal family members affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Canned meals including canned fruit, vegetables, soup, peanut butter, shelf-stable milk and baby food are being collected in addition to canned pet foods, new packages of underwear and socks, diapers, work boots, cleaning supplies including gloves and heavy duty garbage bags, tools, plastic bins for storage, camp cots, and air mattresses.

Donations will be made to the Community FoodBank of NJ (http://www.njfoodbank.org/), St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Shelter (http://www.sthuberts.org/sandyneeds) and to the Highlands, NJ shore area through http://helpjersey.com.

Collection bins are located at the BH Rescue Squad Building, BH Kings and Stop & Shop (pet food only) Supermarkets, BH EMO, Barkly Heights Pet Spa, Pet Supplies Plus, New Providence A&P and Gymboree in Westfield.
