Farmers Market Opens For 2011 Season in New Providence

Presented by the New Providence Business and Professional Association, the Farmers Market will be open every Wednesday, 1 to 6 p.m., through October 26.

Vendors from around New Jersey will be gathering every Wednesday in the Municipal Building parking lot for the New Providence Farmer's Market.

Sponsored by the New Providence Business and Professional Association, the market is in it's fifth year and will feature eight merchants selling fruits, vegetables, nuts, meat, fresh baked goods and even Jersey honey.

"We started it after the Acme closed five years ago," said Market Manager Joe Steiner. "Vendors are the same every week, and we also see a lot of regular [customers]."
