Local Scouts, Faith Lutheran Church Team Up For Annual Food Drive

Scouts distributed bags to New Providence residents last weekend. This Saturday, Nov. 17, scouts will collect bags from residents who wish to donate food. Details below.

The following information was submitted to Patch:

This past Saturday, Nov. 10, the Boy Scouts from Troop 1 and Troop 63 and the Cub Scouts from Packs 99, 263 and 363 distributed paper bags to residences throughout New Providence in order to assist the Faith Lutheran Church and the Community Service Association with their annual food drive.

The paper bags were donated by Shoprite, A&P, Kings and Stop& Shop.

This coming Saturday, Nov. 17, the boy scouts and cub scouts will collect these paper bags from all residents that wish to contribute donations of food.

Bags with canned or boxed food (tuna, peanut butter, chili, rice, soups, canned meat, fruits and vegetables, beans, pasta, cereals, cake mixes, frosting and stuffing), paper goods, soaps and detergents should be placed outside the front door of each residence before 8:30 a.m. for pickup by the scouts.

We really need your help to make this year's SCOUTING FOR FOOD collection a success!

Please call the Community Service Association with any questions at (908) 665-8254.
