Photos: Hundreds Attend Candlelight Vigil For Brooke Healey

Brooke is a young New Providence resident who was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a rare brain tumor, in January.

Local residents came together with lit candles and flashlights on Monday night for a Candlelight Vigil for Brooke Healey.

Brooke is a 4-year-old New Providence resident who is fighting a rare, inoperable brain tumor. As the daughter of New Providence residents Stefani and Steve Healey, Brooke was diagnosed in January with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.

Since then, Brooke’s family has been looking into alternative treatments, which can be very costly. Brooke’s battle with DIPG has prompted numerous community members to organize fund-raisers to aid her family in their time of need.
