Spring Forward at Junior League's Annual Clothing Sale

Open house to be held March 24.

Second Time Around, 37 DeForest Ave, the thrift shop operated by the Junior League of Summit (JLS), is ready to unveil its first wave of spring merchandise. The annual Spring Fling event, featuring affordable spring clothing for men, women and children, will be held on Thursday, March 24th, from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“Thanks to the generous donations of the JLS members and other members of the community, we can help local families make the seasonal shift on a budget,” said Virginia Cepeda, President of the JLS, “We have refreshed our inventory with high quality spring clothing and housewares at a fraction of department store prices.”

According to Shop Manager Marie McNamera, “In addition to great finds for spring, shoppers can continue to enjoy fabulous deals on winter merchandise and stay warm if the cool weather lingers.”

Second Time Around Thrift Shop in Summit was established in 1934 and offers new and gently used clothing and shoes for men, women and children, toys, decorative items for the home, house wares and furniture that is deeply discounted . It is the primary fundraiser for the Junior League of Summit and has provided the resources for the League’s many grants, projects, programs and scholarships over the years. Since its inception, the Shop has raised over $3,000,000 to benefit Summit and surrounding communities. Second Time Around is one of only two thrift shops in New Jersey featured in the book, True Prep. The Shop accepts MC, Visa, and debit cards.

The Junior League of Summit is a nonprofit, charitable and educational organization of women who are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
