The Week Ahead

Tree lighting at Church of the Little Flower Highlights the week.

Here's what's hapening this week in Berkeley Heights and Mountainside:

1. Tuesday's Berkeley Heights Council meeting will feature discussion on the proposed Berkeley Heights Aquatic Center in Warren. the meeting is set for 7 pm at the Municipal building at 29 Park Ave. All are welcome.

2. On December 11, The Church of the Little Flower will present their annual Tree Lighting ceremony starting at 5 pm. Remember to join St. Nicholas for cocoa and cookies at 4 pm.

3. Mountainside will hold a Borough Council Meeting on Dec. 7 at 7 pm at the borough hall.

4. Friday Night Out will be presented this Friday Dec. 9 at the Berkeley Heights YMCA from 6-9 pm. The event is for ages 5 to 10. A fun-filled evening of sports, games, pizza, snacks and a movie are planned. Tickets are $20 for YMCA members; $25 for non-members. The address is 550 Springfield Ave.

5. The Drama Club at Holy Trinity Interparochial School in Mountainside will present the play, "On Christmas Day in the Morning." at 7:30 pm on December 9 and 10.

The production is directed by Paul O'Connor, the director of Teen Production Series at the Paper Mill Playhouse and the Director of the Holy Trinity Drama Program.  Students from  Holy Trinity in grades 1 through 6 will participate. 

The play will be staged at Holy Trinity's Mountainside Campus at Pollard Hall in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
