See the lights go on at 4:30 pm at Municipal Complex.

Friends and neighbors are gearing up in Mountainside for the annual tree lighting ceremony, which will take place on Saturday December 3 at the Municipal Complex.

The festivities begin at 2:00 pm, when children and adults can trade their ice skates at the 14th annual "Skate Swap" to be held inside borough hall in the community room until 3:00 pm.

Then the excitement builds for the tree lighting, which will take place at 4:30 pm at the corner of New Providence Rd. and Rt. 22.

Mayor Paul Mirabelli will once again light the tree, while scouting groups will be on hand to sing carols. The Historical Preservation Committee will be selling hot chocolate and cookies as well.

Soon after, you can lace up the skates you traded for and hit the ice at the Union Sports Arena for the Free Family Skate Night being held from 6:30-8:00 pm.
