Meet the Author

Jon Gertner, author of the new book The Idea Factory: Bell Labs and the Great Age of American Innovation, will be at the Mountainside Public Library on Saturday, May 19 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. 

The Idea Factory has been widely reviewed and was even featured in a segment on the CBS News Sunday Morning show with Charles Osgood.  The book tells the history of Bell Labs through the life and work of some of its most notable figures -- work that set the stage for modern telecommunications and the information age.

The program will include a short presentation and a reading from the book by Mr. Gertner.  Books will be available for sale at the event.
