Mountainside Artist Jeri Greenberg has a 'Passion for Pastels'

JCC Metrowest will showcase Landscapes, Pastels and Still Life from Sept. 9 through Oct. 29

The JCC Metrowest will hold an artist's reception on Sunday, Sept. 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will feature the works of pastel artist and Mountainside resident, Jeri Greenberg.

“Passion for Pastels” – a collection of approximately twenty pieces of  landscapes, still lifes and portraits, varying in size from 5 x 7 to 20 x 30, will be on display through Oct. 29 at the JCC's Gaelen Center for the Arts at the Leon & Toby Cooperman JCC, Ross Family Campus, located at 760 Northfield Ave. in West Orange.

The pieces reflect Ms. Greenberg’s never-ending effort to share her joy of pastels.

“Pastels are pure color and pure joy for me. I am forever learning to ease nuances out of my subject, be it a person, an everyday object, or a scene in nature," Greenberg said. "To portraits and figurative work, I have added a love of landscapes and still lifes as well.”

Ms. Greenberg is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design and is an illustrator with more than twenty years of commissioned experience in fashion, portraits and landscapes. Her art has received many honors, including the winner of the Connecticut Pastel Society Award.
