Tornado May Have Touched Down In Berkeley Heights Monday

National Weather Service team has yet to make an official announcement, but township mayor says he was told a tornado touched down, according to an NJ.com report.

The National Weather Service has not officially determined if a tornado touched down in Berkeley Heights this morning following their investigation this afternoon.

But according to an NJ.com, Berkeley Heights Mayor Joe Bruno said he was told that it was, in fact, a tornado that knocked over dozens of trees this morning in town.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Lauren Nash said the survey team was moving from Berkeley Heights into Summit to continue their investigation around 6 p.m. Monday and the official results of the investigation are expected late tonight.
