Crest Physical Therapy Opens in Mountainside

The new physical therapy center recently opened above The Center for Ambulatory Surgery on Route 22.

Last month, Crest Physical Therapy opened its ninth location on Route 22 in Mountainside aimed towards providing complete rehabilitative care by experienced physical therapists in order to get people back to their original physical abilities.

The 5,000 square foot physical therapy center has opened up above the Center for Ambulatory Surgery and serves patients of all ages.

Crest goes where there is a need, said head of Business and Development for Crest, John Reagan, being above the surgery center provides easy access for patients.

“We want to be where there’s patients,” Reagan said.

He added that it is easy for patients to visit both the surgery center and physical therapy center in the same building, rather than having to travel to both separately.

Although only opened for about a month, Crest has already received several patients through word of mouth and the surgery center downstairs.

One of Crest’s physical therapists, Jimmy Smith, said the center prides itself on one on one therapy with the patient for 30 minutes followed by work with an exercise therapist.

“If I don’t need to get my hands on you then you don’t need me,” Smith said.

Smith added that it’s not just about the workouts; it’s about provided the one on one care to the patient and make sure they are improving.

The mission of Crest is “We Treat the Whole Person.”

Smith said he is honest with the patient if he thinks the current work is not improving their condition he will call one of his colleagues, which he added it is not uncommon.

“The bottom line is we do whatever it takes to get this patient better,” Smith said. “That’s what we are here for.”

Crest offers a variety of therapies to its patients, such as manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques and more. Some of the issues the center treats are tight and pulled hamstrings, sprains and strains, acute and chronic lower back and neck pain. For more on Crest Physical Therapy visit their website.

The new center on Route 22 West is the first location for Crest in Union County. The Physical Therapy Center has locations in Monmouth and Ocean counties and plans to unveil a new center in Old Bridge this April.

Crest Physical Therapy in Mountainside is located at 1450 Route 22 West.
