Family Safety and Wellness Day Kicks Off On South Street Today

On Monday, Council proclaimed Oct. 15 as New Providence Family Safety and Wellness Day, urging all families, businesses and community leaders to support the day in order to increase safety and wellness of our families.

All community members are invited to the 1st Annual Family Safety and Wellness Day today in the parking lots of TD Bank and NP Chiropractic on South Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature family-friendly activities such as a moon walk, DJ, pumpkin decorating, face painting and more, and is presented by New Providence Chiropractic and TD Bank.

The US Marines will have their Hum “V” for children to sit in, a Chin Bar to test their fitness level and a Marine display, while the FBI will present Internet safety, child ID Kits and employment opportunities.

A Golf Pro from the Reihl Golf Academy will assist New Providence Chiropractic’s Dr. Schlobohm in making sure that your golf swing is pain-free. In addition, Homegrown DJ Leigh Lombardo Cole will play music and sing, Ferdinand Jewelers will have their “Bling” program, and TD Bank will present information about Identity Theft and mortgage refinancing.

Activities will also include a Goggle Obstacle Course by the New Providence Police Department and Municipal Alliance, a Smoke House by the New Providence Fire Department, a Yoga demonstration by New Providence Recreation, a music demo by the Elefante Music, pumpkin decorating by PNC Bank, face painting by St. Luke’s, and demonstrations by Karate World and Across The Floor.
