Ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24.

Coffee lovers will soon have another place to grab a cup of joe in New Providence.

Seattle-based java giant Starbucks plans to open in the Village Shopping Center later this week, according to a Starbucks spokesperson.

The newly-renovated space, which faces Springfield Avenue, can seat approximately 30 customers.

While Starbucks has already hired employees for this location, a company spokesperson said the coffeehouse chain is always accepting applications online at Starbucks.com.

To celebrate the opening, a 'Friends & Family' event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.  Friday, Jan. 24 and will include a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mayor J. Brooke Hern.
