Founded in 1939, the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is the premier association of occupational and environmental health and safety professionals. AIHA’s 10,000 members play a crucial role on the front line of worker health and safety every day. Members represent a cross-section of industry, private business, labor, government and academia. AIHA will celebrate 75 years of protecting worker health and serving the industrial hygiene community at AIHce 2014, the premier event for IH and OEHS professionals.

The Fellow designation recognizes individuals who have been full members in good standing for a minimum of 15 years and have made recognized contributions to industrial hygiene or related disciplines, either through research, leadership, publications, education, or service to AIHA. These individuals have been nominated by a local section, committee, special interest group, or other formal AIHA entity for their recognized achievement in the field of industrial hygiene.  Individuals are approved as Fellows by the AIHA Board of Directors after a recommendation by the Awards Committee.

The Fellow classification is limited to no more than five percent (5%) of the AIHA membership. “The Fellow designation has become a mark of excellence and achievement for AIHA members,” said AIHA President Barbara J. Dawson, CIH, CSP. “Members chosen to be Fellows have been nominated by colleagues in the profession because they represent extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the profession and to AIHA. It is both a privilege and pleasure to congratulate this year’s Fellows on behalf of Awards Committee.”
