What better way to get some relief from the sweltering heat wave than to head down the Shore? With temperatures stubbornly sticking in the 90s this weekend, the region's offer a perfect respite. Looking to buy a season pass? . Wondering what it will cost for a day pass at your favorite beach? before hitting the road.

EVENTS

Runners will head out in just their boxers Saturday for the second annual to raise funds for colon cancer awareness. The run will start at 8 a.m. at Pier Village in Long Branch, and on-site registration will be accepted until 7 a.m. For more information, click here.

Tony and Emmy award-winning actor Judd Hirsch will take the stage at the Surflight Theatre, 201 Engleside Ave., Beach Haven, as the star of a Tony Award-winning comedy exploring friendship and art. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. To purchase tickets, click here.

Free concerts continue this weekend with the , held at the 101 Washington St. The Briartones will play Friday and the Pat Mash Big Band Express Saturday, with both concerts starting at 7:30 p.m.

Hobby train enthusiasts can head down to Brick Sunday for the , presented by the National Collectors Club. Many dealers will be represented at the event, planned for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the , 2491 Hooper Ave., Brick. Admission is $5, with children younger than 10 admitted free.

The Jersey Shore Roller Girls All-Stars will skate their way over to Asbury Park's Convention Hall, 1300 Ocean Ave., on Saturday for a bout with Suburbia Roller Derby of Westchester County, New York. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with first whistle at 8 p.m. It's an all-ages bout, 21 to drink. For tickets, click here.

Lifeguards from the Monmouth County branch of the United States Lifesaving Association will at in Long Branch. Come by after 6 p.m. and watch the lifeguards compete in a series of land and sea races.

Sunday: $2 Coors Light drafts. Live music with Bill Stasse from noon to 4 p.m. then Chris Fritz Band from 5 to 9 p.m.

Surf City Hotel, 800 N. Boathouse, 1309 Main St, Belmar — Boathouse is a nautically themed haven for surfers and beach-goers with competitive drink specials and nightly entertainment.

Friday: Mike Dalton Band performs live at 9 p.m. Drink specials until 6 p.m. include: $1.75 domestic drafts, $2.50 domestic bottles, $3.50 premium drafts; and from 6 p.m. to closing: $2.50 Bud and Bud Lights, $4.00 rum and cokes.

Saturday: Rory Daniels Band plays at 9 p.m. Drink specials until 4 p.m. include: $4 Bloody Marys, $3 Miller Lite bottles; and from 6 p.m. to closing: $3 Sam Adams drafts.

Wharfside Patio Bar, 101 Channel Drive, Point Pleasant Beach— Tucked behind the Wharfside Restaurant sits the charming Patio Bar that has been a haven for visitors for years. The outdoor patio offers a casual dining menu, a raw bar and cocktails all overlooking the Manasquan River and inlet islands.

Friday: C.O.A.L.G. from 2 to 5 p.m. then Undisputed from 6 to 10 p.m.

Saturday: Paul Cilinski from 1 to 5 p.m. then Phil Engel Band from 6 to 10 p.m.

Sunday: Not 4 Nothin band from 1 to 5 p.m. then Waterfront Duo from 6 to 10 p.m.

Jenk’s Club, 300 Ocean Ave, Point Pleasant Beach — Jenk's Club, a Shore favorite, is sure to be packed all weekend with revelers enjoying live music and drink specials.

Friday: Dark City Saints covering all party hits at 10 p.m. then DJ Prime late night, with $2.50 Coors Light special until midnight.

Saturday: No Standards at 2 p.m.; The Nerds at 10 p.m.

Sunday: Flying Mueller Brothers at 2 p.m. Go-Go Gadget and at night with $3 Corona and Corona Lights all night.

— It's tough to avoid the reputation this oceanside club has for fist-pumping parties and MTV’s Jersey stereotypes. But it's also tough to deny that D'Jais offers some memorable nights and great parties.

Friday: Happy Hour with a buffet and Coors Light prize wheel, no cover. Music by DJ Kirk Lopez, Kipple and Joe Giorgio. $2 Coors Light, $3.50 Blue Moons, $4 vodka drinks, $12 Coronita buckets and shot specials.

Saturday: Kipples Beach Party from 3 to 8 p.m. with $3 Bud Lights and music by DJ Robbie O.

Sunday: Happy Hour starting at noon with DJ Charlie Cavallo, $3.50 Bud and Bud Light bottles, $12 buckets of Coronitas and $10 buckets of Rocks.  “In the Biz” night at 7 p.m. for service industry workers; no cover and $3 drinks. DJ Kipples spins at 7 p.m., and DJ Kirk Lopez is on at 10 p.m.
