Five Things You Need to Know Today

GL team plays Summit in UCT semi-final round.

The only place colder than being outside right now, is when you're inside the Warinanco Ice Rink in Roselle, one of the coldest places on earth. And that's where all Gov. Livingston hockey fans should be tonight, when the Highlanders --fresh off their 5-4 upset of Cranford in the quarterfinals -- will faceoff against Summit. Let's hope Warinanco has the wood-burning fire on full blast. Plus, the concession food is actually pretty good too.

Here are five things you need to know today, Feb. 23, 2011:

  1. The boys hockey squad will take on Governor Livingston in the Union County Tournament semi-finals at 8:30 p.m. at Warinanco Ice Rink in Roselle.
  2. Restaurant week in Summit is still going on! Don't miss out on great deals. Check out summitdowntown.org for the list of participating restaurants.
  3. The Luna Stage, located at 555 Valley Road, West Orange, NJ is showing the world premiere of Mercy and the Firefly.  This is a story of a troubled girl on a journey back to her home in Pittsburgh, the home that she fled from.  This performance runs through March 13, 2011.  All performances begin at 8:00pm.  For more information and to purchase tickets, visithttp://www.lunastage.org.
  4. There will be a forum in Berkeley Heights tonight at the V.F.W., 15 Locust Ave. Discussion on different topics.
  5. Mountainside board of Education meeting set for tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. at Beechwood School.
