Five Things You Need To Know Today: August 17
This afternoon, there is a Luau at the Senior Center and the Farmers Market will be open. Tonight, the Diversity Committee will meet in the Municipal Center.
1. The will be open today from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Municipal Center parking lot, located at 360 Elkwood Ave., rain or shine.
2. The New Providence Diversity Committee will meet tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the 3rd floor conference room in the Municipal Center. All are welcome to attend.
3. The is hosting a Luau today, noon to 3 p.m., at the center. The Luau will feature a catered lunch and entertainment, with a Hawaiian flare. The cost is $14. For more information, please call the center at 908-665-0046.

4. There will be a Summer Arts Festival at Oak Ridge Park in Clark tonight at 7:30 p.m. The festival will feature music of "Almost Queen." This event is free and open to all.
5. The Trailside Nature & Science Center, located at 452 New Providence Rd. in Mountainside, presents Jungle Jon, “The Lizard Guy” today at 1:30 p.m. The show will last about 45 minutes. Tickets are $4 per person and go on sale at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend. For more information, please call 908-789-3670.
