Five Things You Need to Know Today, August 19th

Family fun night in Mountainside takes center stage.

Today is August 19, 2011 and while there may be unpredictable weather in the forecast for the next few days, here are some predictable things to do today.

1. The Museum of Early Trades and Crafts will present a Downtown Concert. The concert will begin at 6:00PM and will feature the music of the Frostkings. Bring your blanket and enjoy this free outdoor concert.  In case of inclement weather concert will be held inside the Museum with first come first serve seating. The location is 9 Main St., Madison.

2. Union County is hosting Family Fun and Flix this evening at Echo Lake Park, 1000 Springfield Avenue, Mountainside. Bring a blanket or lawn chair for free movies & activities! The fun starts at 7:30 pm and movies start at dusk. There will be a classic car show by G-Wiz Auto, Entertainment & Garden State Chevelles and then enjoy "Cars" on the big screen. All are welcome.

3. McLynn's is hosting Live Music tonight featuring Walk The Dog.  This event will begin at 9:30pm. McLynn's is located at 250 Morris Avenue, Springfield.  All are welcome.

4. On Saturday, 08/20/2011, The Galeria West Art Gallery will present ALI BELLO & SWEET WIRE PROJECT QUARTET. This is an Evening of Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Boleros & More, with this acclaimed Venezuelan violinist. Tickets are $15 adult / $10 child. 5. The Long Hill Center will host a Dance Around Friends on Saturday. This event is from 7:30-1:30pm and open to all 45 years old and older.
