Five Things You Need To Know Today: July 17

Today, there is a blood drive in Springfield, Summit Farmers Market will be open, and there is a garage sale in Basking Ridge.

1. New Jersey Blood Services is hosting a blood drive today at the Elks in Springfield, located at 80 Springfield Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. NJBS is facing big challenges this season to maintain an adequate and safe blood supply for hospital patients. 2. Summit Farmers Market, located at Maple Street and Deforest Avenue in Summit, will be open today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

3. There will be a garage sale at 104 Haas Road in Basking Ridge on today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items for sale to include antiques, vintage Christmas/Halloween, costume jewelry, silver jewelry, sofa, vintage enamel top kitchen table, area rugs purses, some designer clothing, miscellaneous household and much more.

4. New Providence Memorial Library is hosting "Wallaby Tales, Live Animal Show" tomorrow, July 18, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Children age 5 and older are invited to attend and meet a variety of exotic animals.

5. The Zoning Board will meet tomorrow, July 18, at 8 p.m. in the Municipal Center.
