Five Things You Need To Know Today: July 23

Today, the Union County Housing Fair will take place in Elizabeth, and there will be garage sales in Murray Hill and Basking Ridge.

1. There will be a large multi-family garage sale at 3 Warren Place in Murray Hill today, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Items for sale to include tools, clothing, gadgets, books, CDs, DVDs, furniture, toys, home decor, household items, and much more. No early birds, please.

2. There will be a large garage sale at 39 Wedgewood Drive in Basking Ridge today from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Items for sale to include couches, kitchen items, furniture, double stroller and much more.

3. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders will host a Union County Housing Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 40 W Jersey St. in Elizabeth. 4. The Summit Farmers Market will be open on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maple Street and Deforest Avenue.

5. The Summit Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts will take place in Summit Downtown from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The upscale event will be outdoors along Union Place, Bank Street and Beechwood Road. Participating exhibitors will include fine artists, photographers, glassmakers, woodworkers, jewelers, fiber artists, potters, and more. A variety of classical, jazz and contemporary music will also be performed in front of the train station on Union Place. This event is free and open to the public. Parking is limited, but trains are available to Summit throughout the day.
