Five Things You Need To Know Today: July 4

To celebrate our Independence Day, Summit, Cranford and Springfield are hosting events throughout the day and fireworks later tonight.

3. If you're planning on staying in the New Providence area today, check out , which will begin at 9:45 a.m. at Memorial Park, located at 100 Ashland Rd.

4. If you're looking to venture out to another area in the county today, Springfield is hosting a 4th of July Celebration at 5 p.m. on Meisel Avenue. The celebration will feature fireworks, food and drinks, games and rides, a 50/50 raffle, and a concert. A $5 donation is suggested. Click for more information.

5. In Cranford, the Recreation and Parks Department is hosting 4th of July Fireworks in honor of Cranford's 140th Anniversary. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:05 p.m. at Nomahegan Park, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue in Cranford. Food vendors will be on site with a variety of food and beverages from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Rain date for the fireworks only is Tuesday, July 5th. Click for more information.
