Well on this date, July 6th, 1958, Paul McCartney was introduced to John Lennon at a concert being held at a church in England. Soon after, the Fab Four took on the world on their way to becoming music legends.

Also, in 1933, the first Major League Baseball All-Star game was held at Comiskey Park in Chicago.

1. Free Irish Music Demonstration: Irish musician and teacher Rose Flanagan will be giving a free Irish music demonstration at Wharton Music Center in Berkeley Heights. Rose and her students will be playing and discussing what makes Irish Music special this morning. at 9:15am. Rose and her fellow Irish music teachers will be holding an Irish music camp at Wharton Music Center July 25th -29th. The camp will be holding classes on the fiddle, flute, tin whistle and Bodhran (Irish drum) .  Classes will also be given in Irish step dancing. 

2. The Overlook Hospital Sun Exposure Screening will be at the Westfield YMCA on 07/06/2011.  This event will be from 10:00am- 12:00pm. Sun Exposure: Educational Information and Derma Machine.  Overlook Hospital and the Westfield Area Y partner together to provide health services to the community. 3. Free Music Concert: The Mayo Performing Arts Center is hosting music from the Balkans with a performance by Chalgiya. This performance will take place today at 12:00pm and admission is free.  For more information, visit www.mayoarts.org or call 973-539-8008.

4. “Paws 4 a Cause” Puppy Program: Dog lovers of all ages are invited to a Seeing Eye Puppy program at the Berkeley Heights Public Library on Wednesday, July 6, 3:30 – 4:30 pm. 

John Stochaj and members of the Paws 4 a Cause puppy raising club will introduce their dogs  and share information about  the program and how the  puppies are prepared for Seeing Eye training.  There will be time for questions and answers.

5. Citizen CPR: Presented by: American Red Cross, Colonial Crossroads Chapter, learn the new CPR guidelines by attending this American Red Cross class. This thirty minute class teaches participants compression-only CPR for adult victims suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. It begins at 7:00pm at summit medical center, 1 Diamond Hill Rd., Berkeley Heights.
