Five Things You Need To Know Today: June 11

Today, Muscle Maker Grill will offer free wraps to the community from noon to 4 p.m., while the County of Union will host a Household Special Waste Collection at Alcatel-Lucent, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

1. , which recently opened in the Village Shopping Center, will offer free wraps to the community today from noon to 4 p.m. Those looking to try something new can choose one of the restaurant's signature selections: the Rocky Balboa, the Santa Fe, BBQ Chicken and the Yee Ha! All are made with fresh ingredients and low amounts of fat.

2. The County of Union is hosting a Household Special Waste Collection today at Alcatel-Lucent Technologies from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Material being accepted for proper disposal include: Mercury switches, aerosol cans, motor oil and oil filters, batteries, antifreeze, oil based paints and varnishes, caustics, pesticides and herbicides, corrosives and cleaners, pool chemicals, solvents and thinners, thermostats, gasoline, unbroken fluorescent bulbs and fire extinguishers. A limit of 8 automobile tires per household will also be excepted without the rims. Please note that latex paint, any unknown or unidentified materials, radioactive materials, PCB's or explosives will NOT be accepted. Visit ucnj.org for more information.

3. Tomorrow, the NJ Sharing Network Foundation will host its inaugural 5K Run/Walk to raise funds and awareness for organ and tissue donation. Co-hosted by the New Providence Business and Professional Association, about 3,000 people are expected to attend. Anyone who has not signed up still can on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for $30 at the NJ Sharing Network headquarters, located at 691 Central Ave. A one-mile “Fun Run” will kick off the day at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 10 a.m. A 50-yard “Sprout Sprint” for children 3 years old and under will close out the day at 11 a.m. For more information, or visit sharenj5k.org.

4. If you're looking to make dinner plans after the 5K on Sunday, look no further then the , hosted by . From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, the family-friendly event will have burgers, hot dogs, ice cold cola and more. All proceeds will go toward sending more than 200 people to Mexico this summer to build houses for the homeless. Visit pcnp.org for more information.

5. If you're a animal lover and looking to get out of town on Sunday, check out the P.A.L. Pet Show at 25 Deforest Ave. in Summit at 11 a.m. The annual event is free and open to all. Attendees are encouraged to bring their cat, dog, reptiles, rodents, fish, birds and every variety of faithful friends to the show.
