Five Things You Need to Know Today, June 14th

A foodie fundraiser and books headline your Tuesday.

It's june 14th, and on this date back in 1776, the Continental Congress approved the first design of the national flag. The latest version was officially raised on July 4, 1960, months after Hawaii became the 50th state. Here are some other things you might find interesting in your neck of the woods.

1.  Mothers and More Fundraiser: The Summit Greater Area Chapter of Mothers & More is teaming up with California Pizza Kitchen to help raise some funds for their chapter, and to give you a night off from cooking! By presenting a special coupon, 20% of your total check that night will be donated to their chapter. You have two choices to help support Mothers & More and our programs and events that night: Bring your kids, husband, and friends at anytime during that time-frame, to hang out and enjoy lunch or dinner, or feel free to eat at any time on June 14th including getting takeout -- and it will also count towards the Mothers & More tally! The special coupon you will need for either choice can be obtained by clicking here.  California Pizza Kitchen is located at the Mall at Short Hills, on the upper level near Saks Fifth Avenue. This event is open to everyone, including non-members.

2. The Evening Book Group will meet tonight at the Berkeley Heights Public Library at 7:30pm.  The book to be discussed will be The Postmistress by Sarah Blake.  Registration is required.
