Five Things You Need To Know Today: June 17

Today, the Municipal Center will close at 1 p.m., DPW will continue micropaving borough roads, and the senior center will host a trip to the Somerset Patriots game.

1. The Municipal Center will begin summer hours today. Every Friday through Labor Day, the center will close at 1 p.m.

2. The began micropaving streets in the borough on Tuesday. Today, the DPW will be working on Third Street between Livingston and Bradford, Madison Avenue between Springfield and Elkwood, and Walton Avenue. For more information, please call the DPW at 908-665-1076.

3. Today, the is hosting a trip to a Somerset Patriots vs. Maryland Blue Crabs game at TD Bank Park for seniors in the community. The cost is $10, which covers the bus and game ticket. Seniors are welcome to bring guests and can sign up at the center or call 908-665-0046.

4. This Saturday, , located at 1307 Springfield Ave., will host a Mexico Fundraiser Car Wash to raise money to send 200+ people to Mexico this summer to build houses for the homeless. The car wash will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Please visit pcnp.org or call 908-665-0050 for more information.

5. The AfterWords Bookshop will be hosting a paperback book sale from Monday, June 20 through Saturday, June 25, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The bookshop is located on the lower level of the library. All regular paperbacks will be on sale for 25 cents each.
