Five Things You Need to Know Today, June 22nd

Financial planning for retirement, opera in east hanover and holistic health care are part of today's events.

In this, the 173rd day of the year, and a mix of sun and clouds expected, here are five things you need to know today.

1 Mountainside's Deerfield School 8th-graders to graduate: There will be 8th Grade Graduation at the Deerfield School.  The commencements will start at 7:00pm.  All are welcome.

2MHANJ to Host Awards Ceremony Honoring Anti-bullying Leadership: The Mental Health Association in New Jersey encourages parents all professionals who provide guidance to youth to attend its upcoming “Evening of Excellence” awards benefit.  The event will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 6 p.m. at The Crystal Plaza, 305 West Northfield Ave., Livingston.  More than a traditional fundraiser, this evening will afford the opportunity for those in attendance to learn about valuable anti-bullying initiatives that may be replicated in other communities.  For information or to purchase tickets, visit www.mhanj.org or call 973-571-4100, ext. 128.

4. Nutrition in the New Millennium: Weight Loss and Holistic Healthcare: Dr. Murphy will present his well received informational talk at the The Madison Elks Lodge 1465, 192 Main Street, Madison.
