Five Things You Need to Know Today, March 23

The baseball team continues to tune-up, while match magic will have your kids learning new number tricks.

You can learn more about Africa, kids math,and see the works of well-know artists. Here are five things you need to know today, presented by Patch.

  1. Visit St Vincent de Paul school in Stirling (Long Hill T0wnship) as it hosts Passport to Africa, which runs through April 1st. The school will host many speakers, dancers, food vendors, and much more as it provides a special enrichment program to its students. Feel free to e-mail the school or call for a daily agenda.
  2. MatheMagic! ® starring Bradley Fields, will be performing today at 10:00am and 12:15pm. “Math-magician” Bradley Fields uses illusions, tricks and comedy to show math skills and problem solving to the children.  This event is geared for grades K-3 and 4-7.  Ticket are $8.00.  For more information and to purchase tickets, please call 973-539-8008 or visit www.mayoarts.org.
  3. The Union County College is hosting world-renowned artists Joanna Quinn and Les Miles of Beryl Productions International Ltd.  This event will take place today at 1:00pm. The Roy Smith Theater on the college’s Cranford Campus of UCC, 1033 Springfield Avenue Cranford, NJ 07016-1598 will be the venue.  This event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged and welcome to attend.  To find out more about this educational, cultural, and creative event www.ucc.edu.
  4. Join Patch tomorrow for Free Coffee Day, sponsored by Patch. The vent will be held between 9:00 am and Noon at Goodman's Restaurant & Deli, located at 400 Springfield Ave. The deli sells fresh garden salads, delicious corned beef sandwiches, pastrami, brisket of beef, mouth-watering charbroiled steaks and a full breakfast menu. The restaurant has ten tables for dining-in, everything on the menu is available for take out, and delivery is available. Come in for your free cup of java and say hello to the Patch staff!
  5.  The Gov. Livingston baseball team continue to prep for the season with a scrimmage against Delbarton this afternoon. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
