Five Things You Need To Know Today: March 26

1. A Home Farming meeting will take place at the today at 2:30 p.m. Participants can see how their seedlings are doing indoors and discuss what to plant outside at this time of year. Wanda Knapik, a professional expert, will be in attendance for assistance. Home First and the Borough’s Sustainability Committee will also be at the meeting. 2. is hosting a Clothing and Toy sale today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Union County is sponsoring a recycling event for electronic equipment today at Alcatel-Lucent Technologies, located at 600 Mountain Ave. Residents of Union County can dispose of unwanted televisions, computers and other electronic equipment in an environmentally friendly way. There is no cost to participate, but you must show proof of Union County residency. There is a limit of six electronic items per car. 4. The New Providence Athletic Booster Club is holding a Spring Clothing Drive today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the student parking lot. Clothing, shoes, toys and linens will be accepted and participants are requested to put all items in plastic bags. The Booster Club is dedicated to supporting the athletes of New Providence High School by providing scholarships, giving special assistance to teams, providing the awards at the fall/winter/spring sport awards, and hosting the annual Senior Athletic Banquet.  All donations greatly appreciated.

5. In neighboring Summit, there is a Flea Market at the Vito Gallo Building – Community Room from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. being offered by the Summit Housing Authority. All are welcome to attend. Visit summitnjha.org or call 908-273-6413 for more information.
