Five Things You Need To Know Today: March 29

Tonight, the Borough Council will meet at 7 p.m. Plus, a free movie and employment event at the library and a few athletic games.

1. The Borough Council will be meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center. Items on the agenda include an public hearing on Ordinance 2011-& to exceed the Municipal Budget Appropriation limits and to establish a cap bank, a presentation by the Board of Education for the 2011/2012 budget, and referendums for amending the open space fund to allow for Recreation improvements and consumption liquor license.

2. The New Providence Memorial Library is hosting “Finding Employment in the ‘Green Economy’” at 7:30 p.m. The program, funded by a generous grant from the Junior League of Summit, Inc. is free and will explore how job seekers can find employment in the current economy.

3. The boys’ baseball teams will play Rutgers Prep School at home, 4 p.m. in scrimmages.

4. The boys’ tennis teams will play at Wardlaw Hartridge in scrimmages, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

5. The New Providence Memorial Library will screen the movie “Get Low” at 2 p.m. in the Conti Family Meeting Room.
