Five Things You Need To Know Today: March 31

Here's a quick list of what's happening around the borough and beyond today.

1. Although tomorrow is April Fools Day, this is no joke: The National Weather Service is predicting a 70 percent chance of rain today, changing to snow after 2 a.m. On Friday, snow is possible before 10 a.m., changing to a mix until 2 p.m., followed by rain. New snow accumulation could range from 1 to 3 inches.

2. PSE&G is hosting a public outreach program for the Transmission Upgrade Project today from 4 to 8 p.m. at L'Affaire Fine Catering, located at 1099 US Highway 22 in Mountainside. All are invited to attend. Visit ncreliabilityproject.pseg.com for more information about the project. 

3. The Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. in the high school/middle school media center. The appointment of Arthur Cattano as head football coach is on the agenda, among many other items. The meeting agenda can be found on the school district's website.

4. The boys’ lacrosse teams will play Bergen County Tech at home in scrimmages today. Varsity will play at 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5:30 p.m.

5. The girls’ lacrosse teams will play at Bergen County Tech today in scrimmages. Varsity will play at 4:15 p.m., while JV will follow at 5:30 p.m.
