  1. SWEENEY TODD AT KEAN UNIVERSITY
    Where/When: 1000 Morris Ave., Union; Friday, 8 p.m. and Saturday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

  2. MAPLE SUGAR FESTIVAL
    Where/When: Great Swamp OEC, 247 Southern Blvd. in Chatham; Saturday, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Why Go: Open to all ages, the festival will feature games, crafts, maple syrup snow cones, syrup taste tests, tree tapping demos and more!

  3. "FINNEGAN'S WAKE" PARTY AND "GUINNESS FUN RUN/WALK"
    Where/When: Irish Pub, 651 N Michigan Ave. in Kenilworth; Saturday, 12:30 p.m.
    Why Go: A fun afternoon of live music and alcoholic beverages, all for a good cause! Irish Pub and The Blackthorn Restaurant are hosting this event to benefit the 2011 Union County St. Patrick's Day Parade. Registration for the Guinness Fun Run/Walk begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Blackthorn Restaurant and the race will begin at 12:30 p.m. (The race should end by 12:35 p.m.) The "Mike Byrne Band" will play for "Finnegan's Wake," beginning at 12:45 p.m.

  4. PIONEER RUNNERS COMPETE AT MEET OF CHAMPIONS
    Where/When: Toms River, Saturday at 10 a.m.
    Why Go: Members of the New Providence varsity winter track team will be racing against runners from around the state. If you're in the Toms River area on Saturday, check out the meet and support your fellow Pioneers!

  5. BLOOD DRIVE AT ST. PATRICK'S CHURCH
    Where/When: 47 Chatham St. in Chatham; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Why Go: With so many winter weather storms this season, several blood drives all throughout the state were cancelled, causing blood supplies at area hospitals to dwindle. Help save a life by donating blood.
