Pet Supplies “Plus” to Open Store in Berkeley Heights

Pet Supplies “Plus,” America’s largest privately owned pet store chain which operates over 260 stores in 22 states opens its’ second store in New Jersey located at 400 Springfield Avenue in the Berkeley Heights Shopping Center. 

The franchised store, owned and operated by the Azzolina and Scaduto families, will hold its Grand Opening on Saturday, November 19 at 10:00 a.m. for its second Pet Superstore in a planned multi unit chain of pet supplies stores throughout New Jersey. 

The principals, who also own and operate 10 Food Circus Super Foodtown stores in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex Counties, expect to create over 25 new jobs in the Berkeley Heights area with the opening of the Pet store on November 19, 2011.

“The Pet Supplies “Plus” store is designed with a brightly lit convenient and customer friendly environment with the pet as well as the pet owner in mind.  The company’s stated mission is to make our stores convenient for people, and fun for pets while providing the latest in natural and holistic foods for pets,” states co-owner Phil Scaduto.

Pet Supplies “Plus” store is approximately 10,000 square feet (about half the size of the other national Pet stores), which features a wide selection of over 10,000 different products.  This merchandise covers just about anything a pet can eat, wear, play with, be groomed by or sleep on.   Of particular note is the extensive array of organic and natural pet food options. 

The store will sell birds, fish, small animals and reptiles, along with scheduled pet adoptions.  A Pet Grooming and self-service Pet wash station inside the store is set to open within the next few months.

The store also encourages pet owners to bring their furry friends along when they shop.  “Our family members are pet owners and our passion for the business led us to venture into this exciting new opportunity,” states co-owner Joseph Azzolina, Jr.
