Take a Tour of the Berkeley Volunteer Heights Rescue Squad

The local EMS will host an open house and blood drive next week.

The following press release was submitted by the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad.

On April 21, the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad will hold its annual open house and blood drive.

The squad building, located at 378 Snyder Ave., will be open to the public from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tours of the building will take place and refreshments will be served. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with the EMTs and learn about what they do.

As part of the recruitment campaign the squad is offering flexible shifts of as little as six hours per week for new associate members, with no requirement to stay at the building. All members receive free uniforms and training.

The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization providing pre- hospital emergency care. Emergency medical services are provided at no charge, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The squad responded to 755 calls last year.

Unable to donate blood or join the squad? Stop by the open house and show your support anyway. The squad will be selling flowers and plants to raise money for their Relay for Life team, which benefits the American Cancer
Society.

Call 908-464-0013 to register for the blood drive or for membership information.
