1. Heights Holiday Spectacular Set for Next Sunday.

The Heights Holiday Spectacular is set for Sunday Dec. 18 at 6 pm in Berkeley Heights. If you bring an unwrapped toy, you can stop by Mt. Carmel at 5 pm to donate to the toy drive. The event includes food and drink, musical entertainment and dancing, and six hours of fun and holiday merriment.

There are many already registered and ready for a great time. Mt. Carmel will be dressed up for the Holidays!

To register for The Heights Holiday Spectacular you can either make a check out to: Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Society and mail it to:  Kirsten Light c/o Holiday Spectacular, 88 Lyons Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 (for checks received prior to 12/1/11, the cost is $40/per person, $75/couple)

2. Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad Cadet Holiday Food Drive Continues.

The Cadets of the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) will be holding a holiday food drive in order to raise awareness of the seriousness of and efforts to fight hunger in our community and across the nation.

Food items collected will be donated to the Community Food Bank of NJ which distributes food to feeding programs at some 1,500 non-profit charities including shelters, soup kitchens, after school programs and senior centers in NJ.

There will be food collection bins at the BH Rescue Squad Building, Kings and Stop & Shop Supermarkets in BH, and BHPD through December 31, 2011.

3. Check Out the Holiday Lights Spectacular

The South Mountain Recreation Complex is hosting Holiday Lights Spectacular.  This event will through the holiday season from 5-9 pm (with some dates exceptions, please call to verify).  Admission is free and donations of a non-perishable food item, toys and new and gently used winter coats are greatly appreciated.  For more inforamation, visit www.essexcountynj.org or call 973-731-5800.  All are welcome to come and enjoy!

4. Radio Host to Sell Off Part of Music Collection for Charity.

Over 10,000 compact discs, various collector’s boxed sets and limited-edition vinyl on-sale for discounted prices at Classic Antiques in Garwood, NJ beginning on Saturday, December 10 at noon

New Jersey– Rich Russo, host of the free-form radio show “Anything, Anything” on 105.5 WDHA, has announced a massive sale of recorded music with over 10,000 compact discs, various collector’s boxed sets and limited-edition vinyl available.  The sale will take place at Classic Antiques in Garwood, NJ across two weekends - Saturday December 10-11 and December 17-18.  100% of the proceeds will benefit Musicians On Call, of which Russo serves on its Board of Directors. 

The lifelong Union County, NJ resident Russo will be “working” for all hours of the sale and expects some “friends” to stop into the store and possibly play live. Read he full story on Rockin' Rich Russo right here.
