The Week Ahead: Borough Meetings, PSE&G Program and Employment Event

Here's a rundown of what's happening this week.

Monday

  • The boys’ varsity and JV baseball teams will play Caldwell High School in scrimmages at home, beginning at 4 p.m.
  • PSE&G will explain the Transmission Upgrade Project from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, 53 East Hanover Avenue, in Morristown. All are welcome to attend. Visit ncreliabilityproject.pseg.com for more information on the project.
  • The boys’ freshman baseball team will play at Caldwell High School in a scrimmage at 4 p.m.
  • The girls’ varsity softball team will play at Chatham High School in a scrimmage at 4 p.m. The freshmen and JV games are cancelled.
  • The boys’ varsity tennis team will play at Mountain Lakes High School, while the JV team will host Mountain Lakes. Both games begin at 4 p.m.

Tuesday

  • The Borough Council will be meeting tonight at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Center.
  • The New Providence Memorial Library is hosting “Finding Employment in the ‘Green Economy’” at 7:30 p.m. The program, funded by a generous grant from the Junior League of Summit, Inc. is free and will explore how job seekers can find employment in the current economy.
  • The boys’ baseball teams will play Rutgers Prep School at 4 p.m. in scrimmages.
  • The boys’ tennis teams will play at Wardlaw Hartridge in scrimmages, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
  • The New Providence Memorial Library will screen the movie “Get Low” at 2 p.m. in the Conti Family Meeting Room.

Wednesday

  • The New Providence Senior Citizens Center Club will meet at 11 a.m.
  • The girls’ varsity softball team will play Glen Ridge High School in a scrimmage at 4 p.m. The JV scrimmage is cancelled.
  • The New Providence Memorial Library is hosting a lecture series, sponsored by the Summit Jewish Community Center, beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Thursday

  • The Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m. in the high school/middle school media center.
  • The boys’ lacrosse teams will play Bergen County Tech at home in scrimmages. Varsity will play at 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5:30 p.m.
  • The girls’ lacrosse teams will play at Bergen County Tech in scrimmages. Varsity will play at 4 p.m., while JV will follow at 5:30 p.m.

Friday

  • The boys’ varsity and JV baseball teams will play at Roselle Park at 4 p.m. The freshman team will host Metuchen at 4 p.m.
  • The girls’ varsity softball team will host Arthur L. Johnson at 4 p.m.
  • The boys’ varsity tennis team will host Jonathan Dayton at 4 p.m.
  • The boys’ JV tennis team will play at Jonathan Dayton at 4 p.m.
  • The girls’ varsity lacrosse team will host Lacordaire at 4 p.m.
  • The boys’ lacrosse teams will play at Scotch Plains-Fanwood. The varsity team will begin at 4 p.m., followed by JV at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday

  • The boys’ and girls’ varsity track team will compete at Summit Relays, beginning at 9 a.m.
  • The girls’ varsity softball teams will host Summit High School. Varsity begins at 10 a.m., followed by JV at noon.
  • The boys’ varsity baseball teams will play at the Highlander Classic This morning. Both varsity and JV will play Madison at 11 a.m. and GL at 2 p.m.

Sunday

  • The New Providence Memorial Library is hosting a concert with the sounds of Joel Perry, introducing the Rags and Riches of Guitar music, with selections by George and Ira Gershwin, John Coltrane, Lennon and McCartney. This concert, free and open to all, is made possible through the Judith G. Wharton Music Center.
