Video: Demolition to the Front of Ferraro's

Work continues on downtown restaurant month after six-alarm fire.

Elm Street between North Avenue and Quimby Street in Westfield was blocked off shortly after 12 p.m. on Tuesday to handle demolition of part of the  facade. Construction equipment was seen emptying part of the inside of the restaurant, along taking out the facade of the building.

The area removed contains the part of the restaurant most damaged in the that occurred during the early morning hours of May 5. The fire, which destroyed the landmark eatery and the apartments above, has been determined to be of unknown origin by the fire department. The Ferraro's family has  to rebuild.
