Sunday, September 11th, 2011

Echo Lake Park- It was a somber, but beautiful memorial to recognize the sixty Union County residents who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Debbie Scanlon, Chairman of Union County Freeholders, served as the emcee for this event; Freeholder Daniel Sullivan read a solemn speech, prepared by Freeholder Mohammed S. Jalloh, who couldn't attend.

Union County Sheriff Ralph Froehlich presented the colors; Honor guards from the county raised flags behind two beams recovered from the World Trade Towers. Rabbi Moshe Abramowitz, chaplain to St. Barnabas, read the benediction.

The Echo Lake 9/11 Memorial video is broken into two parts; the first part is the readings and ceremonies; the second part is the reading of the names of the sixty Union County residents who perished on 9/11.
